How it works

You plug it in and a blue and UV light draws flying insects to a sticky cartridge on the wall side. The listing says it’s spray-free, zap-free and odor-free, and that the cartridge lifts out with a no-mess tab. A blinking blue light reminds you to check it every six weeks. The base is small, about 4 inches wide and 7 inches tall.

What it won’t do

It catches the flyers. It won’t fix where they come from. The listing itself says it works best near the source, like fruit bowls, trash bins and indoor plants, so a rotting banana or a soggy plant pot will keep producing more. It also needs an outlet, and the listing says it’s safe around kids and pets when used as directed.
