Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
This policy explains what information hashmonkey.net (“HashMonkey”, “we”, “us”) collects when you visit, how it is used, and the choices you have. We’ve kept it in plain language.
Information we collect
We don’t ask you to create an account, and we don’t collect your name, address or payment details. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, and we use it only to reply. We collect limited technical information automatically, as described below.
Cookies and your consent
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. HashMonkey uses cookies and similar technologies for analytics, affiliate tracking and, in the future, advertising. We use CookieAdmin to show a consent banner. Where required by law (for example, in the EU, UK and some U.S. states), non-essential cookies are only set after you agree. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link or banner, and you can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how some features work.
Analytics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics, connected through the MonsterInsights and/or Google Site Kit WordPress plugins, to understand how visitors use the site: for example, which pages are popular, how people arrive and what device type they use. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages visited, approximate location, browser and device details. We use this information in aggregate to improve the site. You can learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services, and you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Amazon Associates affiliate links
HashMonkey is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com. When you click an Amazon link on our site, Amazon may set cookies on your browser to record that you came from HashMonkey, so that we can earn a commission on qualifying purchases. We do not receive your personal or payment information from Amazon; we see only aggregate reports of clicks and sales. Amazon’s handling of your data is covered by Amazon’s Privacy Notice.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We may show ads served by Google AdSense in the future. If we do:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- Learn more about how Google uses data in advertising at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
If you opt out of personalized ads, you may still see ads, but they won’t be based on your browsing history. Where required, advertising cookies are only used after you consent through our cookie banner.
Server logs
Like most websites, our web host automatically records standard server log information, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time of the visit. These logs are used for security, preventing abuse and troubleshooting, and are kept only as long as needed for those purposes. Our hosting provider and caching and security tools may also process this data to protect the site.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for money. Information is processed by the service providers described above (Google, Amazon and our web host) to provide their services. We may disclose information if required by law.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, or to object to or limit certain processing. Because we collect very little personal information, most requests can be handled through your cookie choices and the opt-out links above. For anything else, email us and we’ll respond within a reasonable time.
Children’s privacy
HashMonkey is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
Our pages link to Amazon and other websites. Their privacy practices are their own, so please review their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes, for example when we begin showing ads. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
